Photo Upload Basics
Use a clear, recent image in a commonly supported format. If an upload fails, check the file size, connection, app permissions and whether the image violates the rules shown on the upload screen.
- Avoid screenshots with unrelated interface elements.
- Do not upload another person’s image without permission.
- Remove phone numbers, addresses and other sensitive details from the frame.
Choosing a Primary Photo
Choose an image where your face is visible, lighting is natural and the photo represents you accurately. Avoid misleading edits, impersonation and images that expose someone else’s private information.
Public and Restricted Media
Before uploading, review who can see the image and how access is granted or removed. A “private” or restricted setting reduces visibility but cannot guarantee that a recipient will not save or capture the content.
Verification Prompts
If the destination platform offers profile verification, follow the live instructions there. Review what will be collected, why it is needed and how it is handled before submitting. This guide does not collect verification photos or videos.
Report Misused Images
If someone uses your image without permission, preserve the profile URL or screenshots and use the platform’s reporting process. For threats involving intimate images, contact an appropriate local safety or law-enforcement resource.
