Dating Safety, Profile Verification & Community Guidelines

Your privacy and safety are our top priorities. Discover essential tips for secure online dating, learn how our photo verification system protects you, and find out how to report suspicious activity.

1. Online Dating Safety Tips

We encourage our members to build meaningful connections while remaining vigilant. Follow these essential safety practices to safeguard your personal experience:

  • Protect Personal Information: Do not post or share sensitive details like your phone number, home address, or place of employment until you thoroughly trust the other person.
  • Never Share Financial Details: Keep your bank account numbers, credit card data, and financial credentials strictly confidential. If any member requests financial assistance or money transfers, report them immediately.
  • Resist Pressure: Do not let anyone rush or pressure you into sharing more personal information or photos than you are comfortable with.
  • Beware of Financial Solicitations: Stay alert for individuals offering unsolicited financial advice, cryptocurrency schemes, or asking for charitable contributions.
  • First Meetings in Public: When arranging to meet someone in person for the first time, choose a busy public location. Never give out your home address prior to the date.
  • Cut Off Negative Contacts: If you ever feel uncomfortable, threatened, or unsure about a member's behavior, stop communicating with them immediately. Use the built-in hide or block feature on their profile to cut off further contact.

2. Profile Photo & Video Verification

Verification confirms to the community that you are genuine and serious about finding a real match.

2.1 How to Verify Your Main Photo

  • Click on Verifications located beneath your profile photo icon in the top navigation bar.
  • Select MAIN PHOTO and tap Verify by Selfie Video.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to record a quick 3 to 8-second video selfie.
  • Our customer care team will review the request within 24 hours to ensure your video matches your profile photos.

2.2 Flexible Privacy Verification Option

We understand that privacy matters deeply to our bisexual community. If you want to verify your identity but do not wish to display your face in your public profile, you can upload your clear face photo to your Private Album instead. This satisfies our community safety requirements while keeping you in full control of who views your face. Your verification photos remain strictly confidential and inaccessible to anyone after submission.

2.3 Troubleshooting Failed Verifications

If your verification attempt was unsuccessful, ensure you comply with the following checklist:

  • Ensure your full face is clearly visible with adequate ambient lighting.
  • Confirm that your browser or app has been granted camera access permissions.
  • Ensure the face in the selfie video matches your active profile photos.
  • Do not delete all your public photos, as this will automatically cancel pending photo verifications.
  • Photosensitivity Warning: The verification tool utilizes colored lights during scanning; please proceed with caution if you are photosensitive.

3. Private Album & Photo Access Control

You maintain absolute ownership over who views your uploaded media resources on BiCupid.

3.1 Requesting & Granting Private Access

  • To view a member's private photos, navigate to their profile and click the Request Access button.
  • You will receive a platform notification as soon as the owner approves your request.

3.2 Revoking Access to Your Private Album

If you want to unshare your private files and immediately revoke access previously granted to a user, you can:

  • Open your direct chat window with that specific member, tap the ellipsis menu (...), and select Unshare Private Album.
  • Alternatively, click your Profile icon, select Private, scroll down to Photo Requests From Others, navigate to Private Photo / Video Access, and select Remove from list.

4. Anti-Scam & Reporting Policies

BiCupid stringently enforces its Terms of Use to maintain a clean dating network. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for scammers, fakes, phishing, and spam bots.

4.1 How to Report a Suspicious Profile

If you encounter a profile or photo that violates our community standards, appears fake, or exhibits scamming behavior, report them right away:

  • Go directly to the user's profile page or open your chat window with them.
  • Click the ellipsis menu (...) located in the upper right-hand corner.
  • Click the Report button, select the appropriate reason for your claim, and click Submit. Our dedicated customer support team will investigate the matter immediately.

4.2 Phishing Email Alert

Be aware that phishing scammers occasionally send fraudulent emails pretending to be BiCupid, asking you to "confirm" your username or password. BiCupid will never send emails asking for account passwords or confidential billing data. Please forward any suspicious emails to support@BiCupid.com.

5. Community Blogging Guidelines

Our blog feature provides a creative space for members to share personal stories and connect. To keep this environment positive, all participants must adhere to our communication standards:

  • Mutual Respect: Treat other users with decency. Abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory, or racist commentary will be removed instantly. Repeat offenders face permanent account bans.
  • Stay On-Topic: Keep blog replies relevant to the author's post. Posts that deviate into spam or personal chat arguments are subject to deletion.
  • No Solicitation: Do not post advertisements for commercial products, external services, personal ads, or attempts to harvest personal contact information.
  • Copyright Integrity: Only publish original content that belongs to you. Do not post copyrighted materials or media belonging to third parties.
